Nairobi Hilton Hotel was built in the early 1960s by America as a gesture of confidence in the new Kenyan government, led by Jomo Kenyatta from 1963 onwards. All the many floors of the circular tower block complete what was quite a gesture. Its highly central position in Nairobi helps it to dominate an entire block as well as a large portion of the richer side of tourism.
